First of all, I apologize for slacking the last few weeks in posting. Life got absolutely crazy with kids sports, concerts, end of school events and that on top of being pregnant has just SAPPED me! Whew I forgot how much energy being pregnant uses early on! Lol.
Speaking of being pregnant, we are now 12weeks 4 days, yay!!! Since I’m “old”, just turned 40, I decided to do the genetic testing to get a heads up if we may have a baby with Downs or other chromosomal issues, but really I mostly did it to find out if we are having a boy or girl, extra early hehe. We now know what our tie breaker is! It’s a girl!!!!

Soooo …. my energy is starting to come back now and life as far as running has slowed down a bit so I can think straight again.
I sat down 2 weeks ago to meal plan, I haven’t been able to think of 1 meal for the last month as nothing sounded good :p .
It took a little to get wheels turning so I decided to list “special” days out to reduce my list some. We had, of course, 4th of July coming where we do a huge cookout with parents siblings all the cousins etc, we also had our gender reveal party coming up and will be heading to NY for 5 days for one of my daughter’s wedding! Those obviously all take seperate from usual daily planning!
Next I listed out meals I know we like and are fairly easy because I don’t want to put too much on my plate just yet lol. I also dont want to put too much of an elaborate thing on Joe after a long day if work or possibly one of the kids if it’s a day that I’m just shot!
After meal planning I was making my lists of what I needed for total amounts of items and realized I had no clue what was really left in the freezers. Sooo I dragged up some energy and spent a day sorting not just mine but also my parents freezers, we live at the same place right now until we close on our house/land …. so we all put food in whatever place has room sort of community freezers hehe.
After lots of cleaning, sorting, organizing and listing all of what was there I discovered we had a LOT more options than I thought!

I discovered 3 corned beef, over 20 cups(after mashing) of bananas, hamburger which I thought we were out of and about 30lb of chicken where I thought we were down around 5 lb :p and lots more stuff!
I knocked out almost all of my shopping list for the month simply by cleaning out the freezers … seriously!! I ended up needing to of course get fresh stuff, produce, dairy etc and more hamburger for the 4th.
From the bananas I made around 20 loaves of banana bread, 6 or 7 were gluten free and the rest with regular flour. The mini ones took 10-12 to count as 1 regular loaf.

Comment below:
When was the last time you thoroughly sorted your freezer? Did you find any unexpected things? Do you have a regular system for going through things before going shopping?
