Today was another beautiful, predicted to be cloudy gray day that turned out to be blue skies and sun! I’m hoping the prediction of snow over the next couple days will be just as wrong, wouldn’t that be nice?! Haha
What is this 180 days about? Check here to get the details about this series we are doing!
Once again we took advantage of the weather to get things done!
This morning started with various meetings being done via Zoom, Hangouts and phone. BORING … except one girl got to visit online with some classmates, that was a nice change of pace!
Next I checked in on the seeds and watered the little that was dry. I also strained and rinsed some seeds that I’ll be sprouting to use as sprouts only. These are turnip, I’ve never tried it as a sprouted seed but I had tons of seeds so figured I’d try!
The lettuce is coming in more, the kids were surprised at how much change there was on only 1 day! It is quite impressive! I find this phase the most exciting, seeing daily changes.

Next was back outside to do wood. In the last 2 days we cleared, cut up and cleaned up an area I’d estimate to be about 50 or 60 ft long by 40ish deep. Not bad for a few hours over 2 days! We now have a decent clear space(lots more to go but a good start), a nice pile to start off next winter’s firewood and a big brush pile for a future bonfire 😉 I also snagged some nice poles to use in the garden for pole beans and other climbers!

After stopping for lunch Aurora wasn’t having the idea of napping or of me doing much of anything so I turned more to manager mode over finishing up the wood mess. I got set up to pot up some plants while keeping baby mostly happy Haha … eventually I managed to get 9 grapes in pots.

Next was play time with bike riding, a game of catch, some tree climbing and a little screen time.
Makayla made a great dinner of gluten free chicken alfredo and green beans, sadly we are out of brussel sprouts which we usually have with it.
While everyone relaxed and played for the evening I finally planted 108 white strawberries, from seed 🤔 hopefully we will get good germination and lots of plants! In 2-3 weeks I should have updates 😁
